On Oct. 27, the Mount Pisgah community got into the fall spirit with the annual tradition of Trunk or Treat.
Murray Academy and lower school students collected treats dressed in costumes from decorated car trunks of Mount Pisgah parents and multiple clubs and Honors Societies on campus. The trunks were decorated elaborately with themes of Jurassic Park, Mario, Alice in Wonderland and many more.
In addition, trunk-or-treaters enjoyed games, such as cornhole, and face painting courtesy of the National Art Honors Society.
“We have really good artists, who do professional quality face painting,” said Ms. Steele, upper school art teacher and NAHS sponsor.
NAHS member, junior Nancy Xue has been face painting for Trunk or Treat for three years. She says her favorite part of the event is talking to little kids and seeing them smile.
The STEM club sponsored a trunk that showed off the club’s mission of promoting science, technology, engineering and math. Besides candy, the STEM club also passed out science tattoos.
“STEM club participated by decorating a trunk with a combination of stem and Halloween themed items,” said Purity Stevens, a junior member of STEM club.
Student Government sponsored a fish themed trunk. Students that participated came in costume to hand out candy.
“There was a lot of energy and it was a lot of fun. I highly suggest more clubs get involved next year,” said SGA adviser Kasey Saari.
Trunk or Treat brought many Mount Pisgah families together.
“It is a great event to be a part of and I think [students] enjoy sharing their talents and visiting with the Murray Academy and Lower School students,” said Steele.
