A heist plan, priceless jewels and a casino – but it all goes wrong.
Mount Pisgah’s Theater Troupe 7371 performed their own creative take on the well known movie Ocean’s Eleven. Ocean’s Eleven is about a group of thieves planning an elaborate heist to steal something from a Las Vegas casino.
Their special twist on this production is that the heist goes wrong and turns into a disaster. This play was filled with funny moments and had anyone who was watching on the edge of their seats as the heist took a turn for the worse.
The play was on Nov. 15 and 16 with tickets selling out incredibly fast. Mount Pisgah students and families were clearly very eager to experience this fun and creative production.
Mr. Hilton, Director of Arts, explained how they chose to perform Ocean’s Eleven as a play because of how big it is where every student could be a part of and be involved.
He says he enjoyed the process because he loved working with the students and he is fond of how amusing the play is. He adds that he appreciates how the play is a great opportunity for students to get to know each other and make new friends while working together.
“Without spoiling anything, there is a part where something very big goes wrong and one person has to take over someone else’s role which is very funny,” said Hilton.
Freshman Bailey Waller says that her role in the play is Motormouth Rondo. Waller describes her character as “a con man with huge stage fright.”
Waller loved getting to spend time with her friends and became a family of sorts with everyone she got to work with.
“Rehearsals can be long and difficult at times, but in the end they are always rewarding,” Waller adds.
Overall, the play was very enjoyable. It had people in the audience laughing in every scene, and it was a great experience. There were so many little stories and parts in the play that just brought everything together as a whole.
