Flourish is an annual night of worship and fellowship for female students and faculty. This event brings everyone closer together in their faith.
“I love worshiping the Lord with friends,” said Cydney Rowand.
Each February, women gather in South Hall for dessert and fellowship with one another. Guest musicians and speakers are brought in to play worship music and to give a message to those in attendance.
“I’m most excited about the worship. It is powerful to see a community of believers coming together to worship Jesus,” said sophomore Peyton Lee.
Ali Weller has been planning and preparing for this event for months.
“To me, Flourish was an opportunity to create an experience for the girls of the Upper School to have a fun night of fellowship and worship together,” said Weller. “I hope that everyone who joined us left feeling fulfilled, that they walk away with a renewed hope in the promise of God’s love and I hope that they feel challenged to grow and make changes in their lives that will positively impact our community.”
Students are grateful to have an opportunity to come together to worship.
“The flourish staff do an amazing job of making us feel loved and important. Flourish makes an impact in students’ lives and builds their faith,” said Lee. “We answer deep questions that help us understand challenges in our faith and help us discuss solutions to bring us closer to God.”
The speaker at Flourish this year was April Cristina Farmer, who spoke on Psalm 1:3. Farmer explained that to prosper is to flourish and to flourish in every season of life.
This was a message that those in attendance will not soon forget.
“Flourish is a time where I feel connected to God and in his presence during worship. It’s such an amazing event every high school girl at our school should go to,” said Faith Jennerich.
