For those unfamiliar with the biggest Mount Pisgah Arts event of the year, Concert Under The Stars (CUTS) is a broad display of artistic talent that includes performances from middle and upper school band, orchestra, and drama.
The concert has been a brilliant outdoor display of instrumental, vocal, and theatrical performances for over a decade, and for its 14th anniversary, it has undergone some changes.
Let’s address the elephant in the room: Concert Under The Stars is in March. Yes, that’s right; due to changes in arts scheduling, Mount Pisgah’s very first springtime CUTS will take place on Saturday, March 8, just in time for Music in Our Schools Month.
All performances and audience seating will be in East Campus’ Meditation Garden; it’ll be hard to miss.
A new alumni and faculty jazz band will kick off the fun at 5:30 p.m., with middle school and upper school music starting at 6 p.m., with performances from Dr. Kyle Varner, Daniel Hilton, Nicholas Wheeler, Anisha Lewis, alum Matthew Dworkin, and more.
Mount Pisgah’s chapter of the National Art Honors Society will also return with their pre-concert festivities, hosting face-painting, sand art and other activities for students. These will take place next to the concert, just outside Geier Hall.
To complete the night, pizza and refreshments will be available for purchase on a first-come-first-serve basis.
Otherwise, bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and picnic baskets, and prepare for an amazing night of music under the stars.
