The boys and girls varsity tennis teams had an unforgettable season, full of hard-fought matches and moments that will stay with the players and coaches in the future.
Both teams showed strong work ethic and unity all season long, pushing themselves in new and challenging ways.
On the girls’ squad, the team finished with a record of 4 in 3, and placing fifth in the region. While the boys finished with a record of 5 in 2, and fourth place in the region.
Varsity head coach Mrs. Saari describes one of her favorite memories from the season.
“The fun cardio tennis drills that require players to move quickly. I always look forward to those moments because it really brings the team together through laughter.”
The teams will be seeded for the state playoffs on April 18. As soon as the first-round opponent is determined, the first playoff match will be scheduled for the week of April 21.
Girls captain and senior Abby Hart describes the headspace of the girls’ team in leading up to their next match in the state tournament.
“We have had a really fun season so far, even through all of the ups and downs we are really excited to make a run for it in state.”
Furthermore, captain and junior Dawson Sobocinski shares his favorite memory from this past season.
“When we were at state seeding the boys all got together and played tips with our tennis rackets and tennis balls. It was just a super fun moment that brought the team together.”
