Anisha Lewis has been appointed as the new Director of Fine Arts.
Lewis has played an integral role in the Fine Arts department, serving as the teacher for the middle and upper school band as well as teaching a music technology class and coaching the drumline.
“I am so eager to get out into the community more. There is so much talent in our art programs,” said Lewis.
Throughout her time at Mount Pisgah, Lewis has demonstrated a deep passion for the arts and a commitment to excellence that resonates with both students and faculty.
“While I view art as a form of creativity and expression, it is also a form of ministry… especially when it is done with excellence. Our God-given talents and gifts are there to bring glory to God. Imagine the impact we can have if we cast a wider net, said Lewis.
While stepping into this leadership role, Lewis will still be in the classroom teaching band and continue to grow relationships with all of her students.
“The bond I have with my band kids means everything to me so I’m thankful for the opportunity to still teach where I can.. However, I do know that some things will change, but whatever happens with my classes next year and in the future, I’m really proud of the culture we’ve curated in the classroom,” said Lewis.“There’s something special about those four walls. It is like that in all art classrooms really. So I hope that always continues no matter what my role is.”
Lewis will be succeeding Daniel Hilton, who will transition into the English department next year. Though stepping away from his leadership role in the arts, Hilton will continue to play an essential part in Mount Pisgah’s theater program.
