Mount Pisgah’s Thespian Society promotes, supports and celebrates student dedication, achievement and excellence in theatre.
You may have seen performances by Mount Pisgah’s Thespian Troupe 7371 such as Great Expectations, Eurydice, The One Act Play Disaster and most recently, Alice Through the Looking Glass.
The troupe offers the chance to perform in shows or work as crew for any Upper School student.
“You’ll never know unless you try,” says junior Sanhita Panse. “That’s the attitude I walked in with, and I’m so glad I did.”
Panse talked about how she never thought she would be doing theater and gave advice to people thinking about joining.
“Trying something new is scary but that’s what high school is about and I promise trying out Thespian Society in any capacity will be met with excitement and support.”
Thespian Society is an honor society, so in order to be officially inducted and become a thespian, you must earn 10 induction points.
These can come from performing in a show, working backstage, watching a performance, or helping at the Black Box clean up days.
Whether you get inducted into the honor society or not, you can be in the performances onstage or work backstage as a crew member.
“Theatre is fun and hard work but totally worth it,” said Troupe 7371 leader Daniel Hilton. “Thespian Society makes like at Mount Pisgah better by offering a creative, non-academic outlet for the student community.”
To join Thespian Society, come to their start-of-the-semester interest meeting and participate in production opportunities throughout the year.
