The girls’ flag football team has begun preparations for their 2025 season. Using the momentum from last year’s season, the girls have high hopes for this season.
Sophomore rusher Sophia Mason and senior receiver Ella English are beginning their second season of flag football. They agree that they are most excited about the friendships on the team and the exciting practices. The whole team shares their excitement, ready for what this season has to offer.
Mason was encouraged to join the flag football team by Head Coach Jennifer Osbourne.
“She always lifts us up and is always here for us and keeps us on a good schedule,” said Mason.
Kammy Johnson, a sophomore receiver this year, will play her first year of flag football on the Mount Pisgah Team.
“I do think the team is going to go far this year because the people on the team are very determined and are excited for the season, so I think we are going to do very well,” said Johnson.
After last year’s limits due to GHSA rules, the team can finally compete at the varsity level. Johnson, like many others on the team, is eager to play against public schools like Alpharetta, Johns Creek, Milton and Cambridge.
“My friends encouraged me to join the team, and I wanted to try a new sport,” said Johnson.
With their fun but determined practices, friendships and a loving and hardworking coach, the team believes they are going to have an amazing season and make it as far as possible.
