This year, the Mount Pisgah basketball teams will tip off on Oct. 20, starting their seasons.
Both teams will have fresh faces on the court, ready to bring the energy to the Drum.
The girls team not only has new players, but also new coaches.
Previously, Bruce Price coached for the middle school. With his 29 years of coaching experience, he intends on using his knowledge and wisdom to “develop, inspire, and motivate young student athletes to perform at a higher level on and off the court.”
“I’ve played basketball my whole life, and it is my senior year so it will be special,” said Greyson Holloway.
The girls team is aiming to have a great season with a lot of fun and energy.
Coach Eberhardt returns for his second year coaching the varsity boys’ basketball team. and he said he’s focusing on his team, keeping his foundation, and having a great season.
“We’ve added some good coaches and have a few new players but at the end of the day, the formula will remain the same,” said Eberhardt. “We’re still going to coach the boys up, push them to be better basketball players on the court and better people off of the court. That formula with consistency will lead to any changes that need to be made.”
Newcomers have already been practicing with the team.
“I’m really excited for the energy of the team. I’m nervous meeting the guys on the team and fitting in. I’ve been playing basketball all my life,” said junior Miller Crane.
The dedication and hardwork of the players are going to be what makes this season great.
“When you have a group that truly wants to get better everyday, even when things are difficult, it makes it more fun to coach and creates more of a connection in the locker room and on the floor,” added Eberhardt.
