With the season underway, the Mount Pisgah boys soccer team is looking to keep their winning record heading into their next matchup. The team currently stands with a 2-2 record and hopes to build upon it as they move into region play.
A huge change some players have taken into account this season is the chemistry of the team.
Senior Cooper Kelsh also believes that the chemistry has completely changed since last year.
“The team this year is completely different than last year because of how well we mesh together,” said Kelsh. “Everyone on the team is excited to play this year and to get wins.. we all want to win for each other and not our individual selves.”
However, the team still has areas to improve upon.
“I think we need to improve on our movement off the ball and our through balls as well as scanning the field,” said Bryce Barton.
Despite the team needing to develop in certain areas, Barton says that the team means a lot to him, and he would love to keep a winning record.
“Keeping a winning record would mean a lot to me because I cherish this team from the bottom of my heart,” stated Barton.
Head coach Lance Sarazine has also noticed the improvements of the team and even the drastic change in chemistry from previous years.
“I like how the team chemistry is being multiplied each week,” said Sarazine. “Every game we play gives our guys a chance to showcase the improvements we make each week.”
Even with the promising performances from the team in previous games, the coaches still want to focus on improving certain aspects.
“Our main areas of focus are continuing to develop our technical ability and raise our level of aggression while pressing and defending the ball,” stated Sarazine.
With strong chemistry and the combined talent of the team, the boys look forward to having an overall winning region season.
