For the third year in a row, Mount Pisgah is planning on taking a group of students on an exciting mission trip to Costa Rica. Scheduled for March 14-19, 2025, the trip is an incredible opportunity for students to grow spiritually, serve, and see the impact of the gospel first hand.
“Mission trips are an amazing opportunity to see a big picture of how God is working in the world,” says trip organizer Nathaniel Hilliard. “God is actively transforming the lives of people in every corner of the earth and it is so cool to get out of our own little corner here in Georgia to capture a glimpse of God’s work in Costa Rica.”
While in Costa Rica, The Mount Pisgah team works with an organization called Conexion, a local ministry that has a beautiful partnership with Mount Pisgah. Conexion works to bring the gospel to students in the San Jose area by using music, Bible messages and energetic games.
“Our team has the opportunity to serve alongside an incredible ministry. We aim to serve with the Conexion Team to be a light in the different communities they regularly work with,” says Hilliard.
Beyond the service work, the community in Costa Rica is unlike any other. Although travelling internationally to a new area can be daunting, the people in Costa Rica immediately make the experience comfortable.
“The community of people that we get to work with are so warm and welcoming and they make our Pisgah Team feel right at home,” explains Hilliard.
The overarching goal of the trip directly aligns with Matthew 5:16: “In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” This verse is the root of what the mission team aims to do in Costa Rica.
“We want to let our light shine to encourage everyone we come in contact with, especially our ministry partners who are doing great things for the Lord without much recognition,” says Hilliard.
Joining the mission team and going to Costa Rica promises a phenomenal experience, fostering spiritual growth, heartfelt connections, and a front row seat to how the Lord works worldwide.
