As spring sports approach their first games, the Mount Pisgah boys lacrosse team prepares for what they hope to be a great season. With many new skills from the underclassmen and the previously existing talent from returners, the team feels that they will have a great run this season.
The team enters the season with a mix of returning players and seven new ones. Practices have had a strong focus on building team chemistry and sharpening the fundamental skills of lacrosse including passing, catching and communication.
The upperclassmen are serving as great examples to the newcomers, setting expectations both on and off of the field, as well as helping younger players adjust to the faster pace of high school lacrosse.
The positivity of the team has helped new players quickly accommodate and feel comfortable playing.
“So far high school lacrosse is very fun, and I already feel a close relationship with the team,” said freshman Lucas Lipton.
The coaching staff also has high expectations for the season.
“With only two seniors graduating last year the team returns a strong core that has experience in playoff competition,” said head coach Trey Arnold.
The fans can expect thrilling gameplay from the team.
“Fans can expect to watch one of the fastest games on two feet, played with a lot of energy. The atmosphere at the PAC is usually electric and a good time, and our players feed off that support,” added Arnold.
With leadership being one of their strongest attributes, along with existing team chemistry and raw talent, the boys lacrosse team is hoping to persevere in their upcoming games and make this season one to watch.
