Over the past few weeks, each Fresh Air message has been centered on a series called “The Table.” In this message series we dive into how God’s kingdom is metaphorical for a banquet table where everyone is welcome. Once we step out of our lukewarm faith and into a true relationship with Him, we can feast on all of the goodness he has in store for us.
“This series goes right along with Mount Pisgah’s spiritual theme of the year: Belong,” said Nathanial Hilliard, Dean of Spiritual Life. “There is a real deep truth in the understanding that God’s table has a seat for everyone exactly as we are. Sitting at this table satisfies our deepest desires and gives us a new identity as His children.”
Here’s a recap of the series:
– At God’s Table we find true satisfaction
– Everyone is invited and welcome at God’s Table
– To enjoy God’s Table we have to take a seat
– Who else can we invite to join us at God’s Table?
Some Verses to keep in mind:
Psalm 34:8, “Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.”
Psalm 107:8-9, “Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind, for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.”
In addition to these verses, we also looked at the story of Zaccheus.
What is the encouragement for students?
The overall encouragement of this series is to see the heart of God – He loves us, He has prepared a place at His table for each of us, and we are invited to sit and enjoy His goodness.
What does it look like for this message to circulate and affect Pisgah? I pray that every student considers their seat at God’s table AND also reflects God’s love by the way we make sure everyone belongs here at Pisgah.
